SAN RAMON, CALIF. - March 21, 2007 - The Corporation for Manufacturing Excellence (Manex), will conduct an interactive session on Driving Global Strength Through Lean at WESTEC, being held March 26th - 29th in Los Angeles, California. WESTEC, hosted by the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME), is the largest North American machine tools and advanced manufacturing event. Manex is well known for their work helping enterprises transform their organizations through Lean.
Manex will provide an in-depth presentation and discussion on thriving in a global economy with a culture of Lean. Real world examples of large-scale Lean implementations at Del Monte, United Services, and Silgan Containers will illustrate the value of rapidly and consistently developing Lean knowledge to drive competitiveness. The session will emphasize how this model can be leveraged not just for large companies, but also for small and medium sized companies.
"To compete in a global economy, it is critical to perform at levels that meet or exceed customer expectations," said Brent Meyers, President & Chief Executive Officer. "We are delighted to have the opportunity to share best practices and examples of how we're helping organizations of all sizes successfully compete with offshore competitors who enjoy lower labor costs. Lean drives discipline, frequent innovation, and agility; this in turn builds sustainable global strength."
