HACCP Planning and Implementation

SAN RAMON, CA - April 18, 2011 -  Manex has entered into a partnership with Napa’s Superior Food Safety to bring state-of-the-art food safety consulting and HACCP planning to small to mid-sized food manufacturers. Combining decades of experience in food safety and lean manufacturing, the Manex/SFS team can deliver an array of consulting services to ensure a  firm’s compliance with new food safety laws and global food safety programs, while showing how to achieve operational improvements which may pay for the investment in meeting the new food safety requirements.

All food manufacturers are required by law to develop and deploy a Hazard Assessment Critical Control Point (HACCP) plan by June of 2012. The Manex/SFS partnership incorporates a team of highly experienced, certified, food safety and manufacturing management professionals with post-graduate degrees in management, operations and food science. The team is multi-lingual and can deliver the following training to a workforce in one of several languages:

Manex is partnering with SFS, and combining its internal capabilities, to deliver HACCP and GMP training and consulting programs for Northern California food manufacturers. With the new focus on preventative food safety and the expanded authority of the FDA to regulate and monitor food producers, it is important that effective and timely training and program deployment be made available to allow food manufacturers to achieve compliance.

The globalization of food markets has brought challenges for the protection of food safety. There has been much notoriety regarding producers in the Far East, who have supplied adulterated food products. Large food retailers, particularly in the European Union have reacted to these events by requiring their suppliers to be certified to a standard which is compliant with the Global Food Safety Initiative. In the United States, Safe Quality Food (SQF) is the global standard for independent trainers and consultants engaged in bringing food manufacturers into compliance with GFSI standards through third party certification. Manex’s partnership with SFS brings with it the ability to provide consulting or training services to food manufacturers wishing to achieve GFSI-compliant certification through the Safe Quality Food Institute.
