GEORGE CHAO – MANAGER, ADVANCED AND CLEAN TECH MANUFACTURING
George Chao is the Manager of Advanced and Clean Tech Manufacturing for Manex and has 10 years of business development experience in the cleantech/green tech and high tech manufacturing areas. He assists companies in finding capital resources and developing business strategies with a focus on the fields of bio, technology and renewable energy manufacturing.
Prior to joining Manex, Mr. Chao held a key position with a utility scale solar development start-up company, where he was instrumental in bringing in strategic partners and investments, as well as working with local government. He has extensive technical knowledge in Renewable Energy and Physics and worked closely with the UC Berkeley and Lawrence Berkeley National Labs on Energy Conferences and Advanced Manufacturing events. Mr. Chao also spent six years as an IC Design Engineer at the Lawrence Berkeley National Lab, working with a team of scientists and physicists on several important energy and physics projects.
Mr. Chao is one of the founders of the Silicon Valley Innovation Entrepreneur Forum that assists Bay Area companies procure funding from China, as well as export products to China. He is the VP for the US China Green Energy Council that addresses the energy problem by bringing policy makers, academic institutions, private companies and venture capitalists together in both China and the US. He also serves on the advisory board for Camp BizSmart, the world’s premiere business and entrepreneur academy for “Tweenpreneurs” ages 11 to 15.
Mr. Chao holds a B.S. in Engineering Physics from the University of California, Berkeley.
